How much does a room cost?
Double rooms start at £145 a week and rooms with a private ensuite bathroom start at £185 a week. The price includes gas, electricity, water, council tax and Wi-Fi, so there are no separate bills. Short stays by the night are priced on request.
What exactly is included in the rent?
Gas and electricity, water, council tax, fast Wi-Fi, a fully furnished room with fresh bedding, keypad entry, and weekly cleaning of the shared areas. You pay one amount each week and nothing else.
Where are the rooms?
In Whitehaven, Egremont and Workington in West Cumbria. Most are close to West Cumberland Hospital, the town centres, or the routes to Sellafield. Message us and we'll tell you which rooms are free near where you'll be working.
Is there a minimum stay?
No fixed minimum. Many tenants stay for months or years, contractors often book for the length of a contract, and we also offer short stays by the night in our serviced rooms. Tell us how long you need and we'll find the right option.
How quickly can I move in?
Often within a few days. Gary, our local manager, arranges viewings and move-ins, and keypad entry means there's no waiting around for keys.
Do you house Sellafield contractors?
Yes. We've housed Sellafield and engineering contractors across West Cumbria for years. Rooms are ready to move into with everything included, and stays are flexible around contract lengths.
Do you house NHS and care staff?
Yes. Many of our tenants work at West Cumberland Hospital or for local care providers. Several of our Whitehaven houses are within walking distance of the hospital.
Do you take students?
Yes. Students and people on placements are welcome. One weekly payment with all bills and Wi-Fi included means nothing to split with housemates.
Can my employer or agency pay for the room?
Yes. We house staff for care agencies, the NHS and contractors, and can invoice a company directly. See our housing for your staff page or message us.
What is in the room?
A double bed with fresh bedding, wardrobe, storage, a desk in most rooms, and a TV. Kitchens are fully equipped, and many rooms have their own ensuite bathroom.
Is there parking?
It varies by house. Some have off-street parking, others have on-street parking nearby. Ask us about the house you're interested in.
Do I need a deposit?
We'll explain exactly what's needed for the room you choose before you commit. There are no agency fees.
How do I pay rent?
By bank transfer, weekly or monthly, with a simple payment reference. Gary sets this up with you when you move in.
Who do I contact if something needs fixing?
Gary. He's local and quick to respond. Message him on WhatsApp and repairs are arranged promptly.
Can I view before I book?
Yes, Gary can show you round. If you're moving from further away, we can send photos or a video of the exact room, and what you see is what you get.
How do I book or ask about availability?
Message us on WhatsApp. Tell us the town, when you need the room, and roughly how long for, and we'll reply with what's available.
